Don't believe THEM! Intermittent fasting is not a BS!

Every once in a while, my friends and even my family members tell me that intermittent fasting is a bunch of BS. My answer always is that if so, how come it works for me, for two years. At 60, I don't expect to look great, but I am at my best weight in a while, and I feel great. My only regret is that I didn't hear about it 20 years ago. So if you are 40 something, here is a hint for you.

Please remember that plenty of people would lose a lot of money if people started to switch to IF in bigger numbers. That is why there are "studies" out there that conclude that it doesn't work.

The difference between IF and any diet is that you don't need any cookbook or books with many pages to justify the price. All you need to know is that you stop eating at a particular time and resume 16 (18 or even 20) hours later, simple. Even better, you can combine that with any diet if you want to. I am not above self-promotion, so here is my book on the subject https://amzn.to/2TvLDJi or this guy's https://amzn.to/3mXCOCG

Gear Patrol included Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE among Best Home Gym Machines of 2021

Gear Patrol

Gear Patrol published an article listing Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE among their three best home fitness equipment you can buy.

"The best home gym machines are compact, easy to use and have the ability to hit every muscle group through a variety of exercises. No other piece of traditional home gym equipment checks all those boxes better than the Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE" - writes the Gear Patrol.

My Bowflex Home Gym is so "old style"

Apparently, my Bowflex Home Gym is so "old style" that nobody even attempts to review it. I just found two reviews for adjustable dumbells, Max Trainer, and VeloCore bike but nothing about my home gym. Maybe that's a good thing. Initially, I thought it was a bit pricey, but after comparing my $1,400 gym with other equipment, I think it was an excellent choice. There are so many different exercises available that my workout will never be boring. At the moment, I am following my own "advanced strength training," but I am satisfied, and I know there are other combinations available. Check them out here

Interesting post on Stack.com about Resistance Band Training

I came across an interesting post on Stack.com about resistance bands:  The Power and Effectiveness of Resistance Band Training. It just reinforces what many of us think about the subject, and that is that they are very functional.
One or two resistance bands are all you need to instantly create a challenging and full-body workout because you can vary the resistance and change the exercises immediately!

Interesting review of Bowflex Home Gym Revolution. Did I make a mistake?

The Manual.com has a review of the Revolution Home Gym that made me ask myself what I was thinking. Why didn't I buy this one instead of Xtreme 2? My answer is evident and pandemic-related. I guess I was lucky to get what I wanted in a reasonable time (4 2eeks). The price also made a difference, but not as much. Read the review and maybe get one.

BTW, I already checked. My journals are compatible with this version of the home gym as well.

Using a journal helps with your workouts, a lot

I don't remember where or when I read about planning workouts, but I found it a great idea and used it for many years. For a while, I was using notebooks for planning and recording my workouts. Then I used smartphones. Unfortunately, sweaty hands and smartphones don't work together.

Finally, I created and self-published my journals. I found it so much better and easier to use.  With a journal, I can easily plan my workout and record them for future comparison. I can also check how many days a week I was working out compared to what I promised myself that I would do. (Quite an eye-opening, actually :))
